This policy explains how Job Prosperity collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our website and career-management application.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address to identify your account. We do not retain the Google access token used for sign-in. We issue our own session cookie and store only a cryptographic hash of that session token on our server.
Career and application information
We store information you provide or confirm, including your profile, job preferences, saved opportunities, application status, compensation details, contacts, notes, deadlines, and interview information.
Optional Gmail connection
Connecting Gmail is optional and separate from signing in. If connected, Job Prosperity requests read-only access to identify and review messages related to your job search. We may process message identifiers, sender details, subjects, dates, and message text to classify messages and suggest job information.
Gmail remains the source of truth. We do not store attachments, raw MIME, email HTML, or complete quoted conversation history by default. Content used in the review experience is retained only as needed for that feature and is deleted when you discard the message in Job Prosperity. Discarding an item does not delete the original message from Gmail.
2. How we use information
We use information to authenticate you, operate your career workspace, match opportunities to your preferences, organize your application pipeline, identify next steps, generate suggestions for your review, maintain security, and troubleshoot the service.
AI-generated information is a suggestion. Job Prosperity does not automatically submit applications, send messages, or save extracted email information without your review and confirmation.
3. Google user data
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Gmail access is read-only. We do not use Gmail data for advertising, sell it, or allow humans to read it except when necessary for security, support requested by you, legal compliance, or with your explicit consent.
4. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information to infrastructure providers that help operate the service, when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transaction with appropriate safeguards. We do not send mailbox content to an external AI provider unless we first update this policy and the product disclosure.
5. Retention and deletion
Job records and preferences are retained until you delete them or your account. Signing out revokes the corresponding session. Disconnecting Gmail removes locally stored Gmail credentials and attempts to revoke the Google grant. Deleted information may remain in protected backups for a limited recovery period before expiring.
You may also revoke access from your Google Account security settings. To request access to or deletion of account data, contact [email protected].
6. Security
We use encrypted connections, restricted access, user-scoped records, hashed session tokens, and encryption for stored Gmail credentials. No system is completely secure, but we design the service to minimize the data collected and limit access to it.
7. Cookies
The application uses an essential, HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies on the marketing website.
8. Children
Job Prosperity is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will publish revisions here and update the effective date. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
